Boil Water Alert - Gravesend

Effective as of 9am, Monday 31 March 2025.

As a precaution Council will be placing Gravesend Water Supply on a Boil Water Alert, due to the current turbidity of the Gwydir River which has the potential to make drinking water in Gravesend unsafe. This is estimated to be in place for 2-3 weeks with the current weather conditions.

Warialda Landfill – Temporary Closure

As of 8:50am on Wednesday 2 April 2025, the Warialda Landfill is closed until further notice. This is due to the road being flooded over the cement slab on Airstrip Road before the Warialda Landfill turnoff.

Gwydir Shire Council wish to apologise for the inconvenience.
