Planning Agreements

A Planning Agreement is a voluntary agreement or other arrangement between Council and a developer under Section 7.4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (EP&A Act). These agreements ensure that developments contribute to the community by providing land, financial contributions, or other public benefits.

Planning Agreements support public purposes, such as infrastructure, public amenities, affordable housing, and environmental conservation. They do not override planning laws or guarantee development approval but must be transparent, publicly notified, and enforceable.

By using Planning Agreements, Council ensures that development aligns with community needs and delivers lasting benefits. Agreements are listed in the table below.
